Back Hand Mehndi Design with Jaal

Measured from this photo

• About 37% of the skin in the photo is covered in henna: less ink than 65% of the 2,713 back hand designs we have measured.
• By area: fingers 43%, palm or back of the hand 44%, wrist and arm 21%.
• A typical line is about 2.2 mm wide, so you would want a cone with a wider tip, or more pressure.
• Laid end to end, the lines come to about 3.5 m of henna across 2 hands.
• It has about 21 separate dots.
• More than half of the ink is filled-in shapes rather than lines, so it needs a thicker paste and longer to dry.

Estimates read by our software from the photo itself. The angle, crop and lighting of a photo change them, so treat them as a guide.
